While many picture books and easy readers are available as downloadable audiobooks from BARD at https://nlsbard.loc.gov, not all those books are also available pre-loaded on a cartridge for TBBC to send out through the mail.

People who listen to audiobooks from TBBC often also get audiobooks from other places.

HGTV's Design Star show included Braille!

One of the designers created artwork using Braille as part of a design challenge.

Unfortunately, her design was not well received. She was supposed to be creating a relaxing work place for fire fighters.

I have not watched Covert Affairs, a television show that just began on the USA Network. But I may start watching, because one of the characters is blind. The actor who plays him is not.

On Friday, May 14, young customers of the New Jersey State Library Talking Book and Braille Center and their parents got an up-close circus experience on a visit to the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus at the Sun Center, Trenton. During the Blind Touch Tour, the children met the performers, petted the animals, juggled with the clowns, and played with some larger-than-life props.

In addition to scholarships for students who are blind or low vision, the site lists scholarships for students who are Deaf, who have asthma, students with mobility disabilities -- and that's just a sample
