Blind Spy on Covert Affairs

I have not watched Covert Affairs, a television show that just began on the USA Network. But I may start watching, because one of the characters is blind. The actor who plays him is not.

The description of the character, from the USA Network website:

A former CIA special operative, Auggie (Christopher Gorham) was blinded during a mission. He is now heading up the tech ops department within the DPD. Auggie understands the intricacies of the massive bureaucracy of the CIA in a way that few others do.

At Collider.com, Christopher Gorham talks about the research and work he is doing with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind to ensure that Auggie's portrayl is authentic.

I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie, and midway through the series the character Mary lost her sight.
