Braille Class for Volunteer Braille Transcribers
The Red Cross is offering classes for volunteer Braille transcribers. These are the volunteers who help create Braille textbooks for students in New Jersey and other states.

From the Press Release: "The class will be held in two locations. The first location begins Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. at the Northern New Jersey Chapter headquarters located at 209 Fairfield Road in Fairfield, home to the world's largest remaining volunteer Braille production center. The second location for the class will be in North Haledon and begins on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. The course, which lasts approximately twenty weeks, includes a two-hour class and about 12 hours of homework weekly. There is no charge for the training, and all materials and equipment will be supplied by the Red Cross. After completing the course, participants prepare a trial manuscript for submission to the Red Cross for certification."
