Braille Reading Pals Club

The National Federation of the Blind has announced its Early Braille Literacy program for children from birth to age 7. Details are at the NFB Website: http://www.nfb.org/nfb/Braille_Reading_Pals_-_Early_Literacy_Program.asp

I have sometimes had people ask me why children are signed up for TBBC before ages 8, or 7, or 6, or whatever age they start learning Braille (or people think they start learning Braille!)

I always answer, well, do you give board books to infants and toddlers and young children? Why is it any different for a child who will be learning and is learning Braille?

As the NFB says, programs like this " Help parents promote early literacy skills, a love of reading, and a positive attitude about Braille through daily reading with their blind children."

So, sign up today!
