Catcher In The Rye

I often find that the public, and public libraries, don't realize exactly what TBBC offers. When they learn about the audiobooks we provide, they think, "oh, I have audiobooks at my public library!" or "oh, I can buy them myself." Or, they think, "I want professional level narrators."

People don't realize that the National Library Service for the Blind & Physically Handicapped (NLS) (which supplies all of TBBC's Braille books and audiobooks) creates books that aren't available at the public library or bookstore! They don't realize that professional narrators are used.

Imagine my surprise and delight when I saw this article at the Huffington Post: Audiobook of "Catcher" Made for Library Service. URL:  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wires/20101021/us-books-taping-catcher/diff_D9J011N00_D9J012380.html

This article explains a bit about NLS, it's audiobooks, commercial audiobooks, and uses my favorite example of the audiobook you won't find in the bookstore but you will find at TBBC: The Catcher In The Rye, RC/DB 47480.
