Blind Couple Get Baby Back

This falls under good news, bad news.

Good news! Mikaela Sinnett, two months old, was just returned home to her parents, Blake Sinnett and Erika Johnson of Independence, Missouri.

The bad news? The only reason young Mikaela was taken from the couple almost immediately after she was born is because both her mother and father are blind.

Blind Spy on Covert Affairs

I have not watched Covert Affairs, a television show that just began on the USA Network. But I may start watching, because one of the characters is blind. The actor who plays him is not.

ACB 2010 Scholarship

The American Council of the Blind 2010 Scholarship application is available online at http://www.acb.org/scholapp2010-instruct.html  The application includes Scholarship details and requirements. The deadline for applying is Monday, March 15, 2010.

NFB College Scholarships

The deadline for applications for the 2010 NFB Scholarship Program is March 31, 2010. To qualify, a student must be legally blind in both eyes.

The Dr. Jacob Bolotin Award

The Dr. Jacob Bolotin Award, from the National Federation of the Blind, is presented each year at the NFB National Convention.

Blind Race Car Drivers

Blind Race Car Drivers at the New Jersey State Library Talking Book and Braille Center Fall Festival. At NJSL TBBC's 2009 Fall Festival on October 3, there was an opportunity for blind and handicapped people to get behind the wheel of a racing car and feel the thrill of driving.
